That is why the armour bends where the finger bends instead of forcing the hand open. Solid one-piece shells look impressive in photos and fail the moment a hitter grips a bat.

The flag panel prints into the stretch material before assembly. A brushstroke graphic has fine detail at the edges, and surface printing loses that detail within weeks of friction. Printing into the panel keeps it sharp.
